Swawole Pottery Classes

Swawole Pottery Classes

Personally, I am not a fan of those workshops where You only get a bit of clay, play with it for a few hours and end up with random results... I just don't think it's worth your time.

I want you to actually learn by playing and creating. My workshops will make you proud and inspired for further development.

Yes, my courses are meant for beginners!

No time for a full course or simply want to quickly try out the fantastic world of pottery? I have two offers of Pottery Classes tailored to your needs and to make the most out of your time.

Swawole Pottery Masterclass

Swawole Pottery Masterclass has a very unusual form with an individual approach. You get familiar with various pottery techniques, painting and glazing methods and different clay types. You finish a set of five to nine pieces.

The Masterclass gives you the maximum amount of knowledge and opens your head to get creative and have fun. The programme is based on an academic course for fine arts and is meant to inspire you to find your own style.

  • The First Meeting - You create some cups, bowls and plates, depending on the flow. I introduce you to the theory of ceramics, show you the basic pottery techniques and teach you the professional standards. The class takes around five to six hours.

  • Your pieces need to dry - we make a pause of about three weeks.

  • Second Meeting - you refine your artworks and prepare them for the first firing. It takes around three to four hours.

  • Let me run the Bisque Firing.

  • Third Meeting - comes directly after the Bisque. Now it’s time to put the glazing of your choice, having various techniques and colours to choose from. This class takes around two hours.

  • Next I run the Glaze Firing.

  • Your masterpieces are ready to be picked up!

Summary

Swawole Atelier is also my and my husband’s home, thanks to which we can maintain the friendly character of our creative studio. For each session we provide some tasty snacks and platters, not to mention chilled Prosecco and some smooth beats in the background

I take a very personal approach to our meetings and like to keep a cozy, intimate atmosphere.

It is very common that the participants organise themselves in groups of friends or colleagues. But do not worry about the number of participants: if you decide to attend the workshops on your own, I will find a group you could join and feel comfortable.

Please bear in mind that I do not teach my original Aquarell Blots technique. Thank you for understanding that I keep this secret receipt for my artistic portfolio.

Although I am not teaching wheel throwing, there are other fun ways to play with clay that you are going to master, such as slip casting, free-hand sculpting and working with molds.
